Quotes On Monsters

“You do not truly appreciate evil when you look at it. You appreciate what it is when it looks back.” ~Del. Nicholas J. Freitas, Culpeper

As long as animals are seen as cheap and plentiful they will continue to be abused and exploited by monsters

People who shut their eyes to reality simply invite their own destruction, and anyone who insists on remaining in a state of innocence long after that innocence is dead turns himself into a monster. ~James Baldwin.

On Hunters:

“A psychopath is somebody that has 20 specific traits, and whether you live in Brownsville, Texas, or San Francisco, or Seoul, South Korea, this disorder has been empirically studied for years. And one of the 20 traits is that you lack empathy for other people, not just for people, but you lack empathy for animals, too. So, if you don’t have empathy for people, or animals, you can treat them however you want – and walk away. And you don’t think about them. You don’t care. Cruelty is Cruelty, yet those who abuse animals don’t think that way. They don’t see it as being cruel because their perception was, ‘I wasn’t being cruel. I own that rabbit. It’s an object. I can do whatever I want with it. Or I am more powerful I can do what I want to it.

For instance, hypothetically speaking, If ‘Johnny’ is motivated by the power and control and the feeling of omnipotence that he gets from hurting and being cruel to an animal, then he may decide that, ‘You know what? This is exciting, this is fun.’ And it gets worse and worse…” – Dr. Mary O’Toole (Retired FBI Profiler)

“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”
~Friedrich Nietzsche

  1. … animals, other than human (humans th@ i know of anyway), live their lives inconspicuously, unperturbed with self image. this said – self consciously human. this said with background. recently i began corresponding with a person, a woman who seems to be so – here’s where i have yet to identify the state of mind – for lack of a better maybe more accurate description, anti human. tho human (homo sapien obviously as she sez), she seems to have such disdain for the human race th@ i feel almost weird “speaking ” with her in human / english language. i hope i have not lost “you” yet. & the point may turn out to be quotes on monsters – maybe not. she is so down on human th@ when i tried to empathize & said in so many words – you must be disappointed – she said no, it’s beyond th@ or i expected it – something like th@. i threw in misanthrope – not to put her down ’cause i am not – i am not putting this person down – i’ll stop here ’cause i find this “out of body” perspective difficult to follow thru on. maybe i should look up the word – monster. brb … * … ok 1963 webster’s – i’ll use definition 5 – something monstrous esp a person of unnatural or extreme ugliness, deformity, wickedness or cruelty. ok for me this defines human monster, & it centres in the brain or mind or soul or wherever the source of these black qualities begin / originate / eminate. so for me personally this is me quoting webster’s dictionary. as far as the person i mentioned – it is actually on the one hand mind expanding to disregard assumptions of human viewpoint & on the other hand (“i have 5 fingers”) duh – no – the other hand is, in the most candor th@ i can muster, how can we as human disavow our own being. i get totally, the insanities of this race & have seen written by so so many in threads here there on f bk – i hate humans – should be blown to kingdom come – malignant & … so … on. i get it – i personally have ached ever since i can’t remember. just a thought – not an answer – ? could hatred for the human race – the entire race, be monstrous ? even within the animal rights movement – abo vrs s i c / the various & even sundry definitions of vegan. anyway yah i know – … on the other hand there are 4 & one prehensile. later folks – otis

    1. Great post Otis! I try to think of all life as equal, it keeps things in perspective for me. It’s when a speciest attitude comes in that the balance is thrown off

  2. This is very true. It’s hard isn’t it, to keep yourself from hardening when you see so much ugliness and horror being perpetrated all round the world, every moment of the day.But you have to be able to see it, the reality of it and speak about it,express it and yet not become consumed by it.Just found your blog, great stuff.I will be back to catch up with more of your posts.

  3. I’ve been saying for years the FBI and police should look more into animal cruelty cases because these people can become and have become future serial killers. Thank God the FBI is starting to see this and take it more seriously. In 2016 animal cruelty will be a class 5 falony. Which is in the same class of folonys as murder. And that’s exactly what animal cruelty is. Torturing another living thing (animal) and killing it. I can’t believe my eyes sometimes when I see videos of animal cruelty. It’s so heartbreaking. Sometimes I can’t stop myself from crying because no living thing deserveso to be treated like that. I’ve seen pigs get shocked until they die. I’ve seen baby monkeys being tortured. I don’t understand how these people sleep are night. And when I look in the eyes of these animals it’s like I can feel there pain. It’s absolutely awful. And no matter how much I know about it. Seeing the pictures and videos always sends chills down my spaine. I saw the beginning of a video with a Pitbull crawling on the ground looking at this guy with a gun in his hand screaming at the Dog. The look on that poor dogs face said “please dont kill me” “can’t you see I am sorry for whatever I did?” I have a Pitbull he does that face when he chews up something or got into something but his face is more like “I’m sorry now please kiss and hug me” I’ve never hit him. If someone screamed at him they wouldn’t get a reaction. He has no idea why there being loud. Because he’s never been treated that way. Telling him his been bad is enough. He gets sprayed with a spray bottle that has water in it when I see him doing something and say bad boy and he doesn’t stop what he’s doing he gets sprayed. Like a mist in his face. I could never starve him or my other two dogs. I could never hit or kick punch or whatever other God awful things people do to animals. I love my Dogs and even if I saw someone doing it to a dog knowing them not knowing them I am calling the police. And before I do that their giving me that Dog or Cat etc. The animals are like babies. They didn’t ask to be in our lives. We brought them in. Why hurt them? They didn’t ask to be in your life. You brought them in it. People who abuse animals or children or other people sicken me and there’s a special place in Hell for them. I love my Dogs. As long as I am alive NO HARM what so ever will come to them. Those Dogs are my family. What keeps me going. These people need to be in prison. Plain and simple.

  4. J.F.C. I just felt like throwing up after seeing that evil coward decapitate that poor sweet animal…OMG…I can’t breathe, nor finding keys to type this, the pain I feel for this and the pther animals. That monster better pray he never walks past me!!!!!
