Dog beaten to death with a stick.
Please read and share this post to help make sure justice is achieved. Cookie, a Cavalier mix was beaten to death with a stick Monday May 11, 2015. According to a witness (a neighbor) she saw a person let him out of his back yard, and then chase him with a stick, eventually chasing him onto a porch, cornering him and beating him to death, totally unprovoked. If you know someone in the media, or the Ft. worth TX police dept. or animal control, please call and ask that this matter be investigated to the fullest. They have located the alleged party, though it’s not known what action will be taken. Under TX state law, a dog is “property”, but we want to make sure the case is prosecuted to the maximum amount allowed under the law, and a public outcry is the best way to accomplish that. Corinna Ulloa with animal control in Ft. Worth took the body; she can be reached at 817-223-6802. The incident number with the police dept. is 15-43941, and the phone for the police dept. is 817-335-4222. Please call these agencies and inquire about the case, and voice your support to make sure the matter is fully investigated. Please share this post and if you know someone in the media, forward it to them. The pet owner has asked that any inquiries about the matter go to her friend, Rodney, at 817-320-7628, rodneyr@rdsinvestments.com. Following are pictures of the victim and the stick, taken at the scene.

Tarrant County Prosecutor Riley Shaw Set to Announce Civil Suit against Ten-Year-Old Boy Accused of Beating Neighbor’s Dog to Death
Dog’s Owner Asking Supporters to Call Prosecutor to Demand Continued Evaluations of Child and Family, and if Possible, Juvenile Detention
FORT WORTH, TX, June 17, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ — “Cookie,” a Cavalier mix owned by Jennifer Knittel, was found dead on a neighbor’s porch. According to Dallas/Fort worth Police, a 10-year-old boy entered Jennifer Knittel’s backyard and chased Cookieout with a stick he picked up in the yard, eventually cornering him on a neighbor’s porch and then crushing his skull and severing his spine as he beat him to death. The owner is asking for an immediate public outcry to make sure the family and the boy get the help they need, so justice is served for Cookie.
Knittel has heard from Riley Shaw, the Tarrant County Juvenile Division Prosecutor handling the case. She has learned that Tarrant County plans to file a civil case against the boy, requesting, as required under state law, a conviction for the animal cruelty/torture juvenile felony. It’s not clear whether the boy could get detention and required counseling and psychiatric reviews as part of any adjudication under state law.
“When Jennifer asked Riley Shaw the most likely outcome of the case, he told her that the boy would probably get probation,” said Ron Sturgeon, a commercial real estate developer who employs Knittel as an operations manager. The boy’s parents have hired a Dallas attorney, who has blocked an attempt by Shaw to have the boy submit to a psychological exam.
“This child needs help and he won’t get it unless the state holds him accountable and insists that he be evaluated,” said Sturgeon.
One eyewitness saw the boy taunting the dog under a car, and another saw him chasing the dog, and returned to find the boy standing over the dead dog with the stick in hand. The boy told the witness that the dog was “asleep.” The police report number is 150043941.
The parents sent an apology letter that was a joke. The child admitted to investigators that he killed the dog, saying he was “angry”. The letter has been posted on the blog of the local CBS station athttps://cbsdallas.files.wordpress.com/2015/05/apology-letter-from-boy … 051315.jpg
The story of Cookie’s death has attracted national press attention and been shared more than 70,000 times on Facebook. The dog’s owner, Jennifer Knittel, has asked supporters of Justice for Cookie to call Riley Shaw’s office at 817-838-4613 or e-mail him at rshaw@tarrantcountytx.gov before Thursday.

All animal a users should be treat as if it was a human they have abused.Goodness it’s 2015 Not the ice age !
I think the neighbor that stood by and did NOTHING should be prosecuted to the fullest. The boy should get what he gave the dog, even more so!!!!! RIP sweet Cookie.
Agreed. That sounds like a good start.
I can not believe an investigation for what that piece of trash needs to be put away. Family should be held accountable put them out away from civilization. They are not civilized that culture has no regard for aminals or people. Dispicable trash.
Heartbreaking
The boy and his family should be punished to the full extent of the law. Terrible act.
That kid needs to be locked away and if he gets out be on parole for ever so he can be watched. His parents need to be held as responsible and as far as I’m concerned ship them back to Africa. Just keep the kid locked up.
do not let this kid walk away without punishment and extensive mental health counseling, in fact, the whole family needs to be evaluated…where is this anger coming from
That kid should have a bloody good thrashing , just like he gave that defenceless dog , and his parents should teach him to respect animals. The wicked little sod.
I think the parents should be charged with felonies. This is cruelty to an animal. He should also be punished. Put in a all boys home for being F**Ked up in the head.
Let the punishment fit the crime.
In other county’s someone would be whipped or caned for the destruction of private property. Either the kid or his father are responsible. Family need to be banned from ever owning a dog
Poor baby. Animal abuse precedes abuse to mankind, it won’t be long before this horrible boy kills someone….then it will be too late for the parents to help. This family has major problems I hope social services gets involved before it’s too late.
That young man need professional help. I fell sorry in my heart for the innocent dog, and his family…but the severity of this crime screamsssssssssssss…..get some help for that young man.
The parents should be held accountable for his actions. Where were his parents during this incident…why were they not watching their son while he went onto someones property and beat this angel to death and then have the nerve to leave it on the front door step. Writing an apology letter does not undo the wrong this amateur serial killer did. He beat this baby until dead….thats not feeling threatening because if he did he would of ran, not take the time to find a stick hunt this dog down and take the time to beat it.
I’m not 100% certain about which of the two suspects actually did it. Akinola turns 10 in December. The other one is 11. In any case, everyone now knows to keep their pets away from that family and to not adopt any pets out to them.
all the news agencies say the boy was 9 then they switched to 10 so i would think it is the younger one: here are the 2 birthdays i have, correct me if im wrong
AKINOLA CHIBUEZE OSHAKUADE Dec 15, 2005 the monster
AYOMIKUN CHINEDU OSHAKUADE, Jan 1, 2004
stop wasting American taxpayers money to prosecute these damn foreigners use that money to put them on a slow boat back to wherever the hell they came from it’s not rocket science rest in peace cookie
How terribly sad. This family and child need help. This will evolve over the years into the next serial killer in the future. We read and see movies all the time about the killers who started out this way! I pray the help they need will be found and accepted by them. Cookie! A sweet soul with angel wings now!!! We love you and miss you cookie!!!
lock the kid and parents up they have no soul mid needs mental help have mom and dad go to ,the stupid letter left me more angry ,no probation ,,this kid will do worse things if he gets away with this ,please judge give him something to remember that it is NOT OK TO KILL .
Rest in peace sweet doggie!! I am sure there are dogs in Heaven! Please people this child is very angry and he needs help for sure, but the dad and mom need help as they most likely created the “monster” child. What could possibly make a child that young this angry to torment and murder a small helpless dog? And mommy or daddy are lying for him and blocking a psych eval? What does this tell us? They do not want found out!!! Blame the parents, not the child….the child needs help desperately and understanding and love….i hope it’s not too late. But likely our bass ackwards system wont get the kind of help that’s needs to him. This is so sad!! People get a lock and alarm on you gates!! Protect you fur babies just like your children!!
The Kid is very sick, And need help, what if it was a child that made Him mad, What do you think He would have done ?
Under TX state law, a dog is “property”…
Sadly, this poor, sweet dog may not get the justice it deserves, because Texas has yet to extend equal rights to the people who live there, let alone to look after the treatment of animals. This child was not defending himself and he needs to be locked up in juvenile jail until he is 18.
Where is the justice for Cookie and her owners? This boy clearly has mental and anger issues! Jail time for the boy and parents doesn’t seem like enough punishment! Can you imagine how Cookie felt? This is an outrage!
That evil little scum should be PTS….
RIP COOKIE ????
This is so sad,RIP COOKIE,so sorry,some humans are,JUST EVIL.
Leave the family from Nigeria alone. The young boy made a mistake. He overreacted. You should see what happens to dogs in other countries. Where he is from, dogs are meant to be outside and not treated as members of the family. Where was the outrage when the Charleston 9 died and Tamir Rice died. Go to Africa with that calling him a monster mantra and see where that will get you folks.
He didn’t overreact, he lured the dog out of the safety of his yard and viciously beat the dog to death. This has nothing to do with any other news story; don’t even try and minimize what happened to this little dog.
